La Maternelle et CP Passerelle est un nouveau programme proposé pour l’année scolaire 2025-2026 et qui se poursuivra pour l'année scolaire 2026-2027 avec en plus une scolarité proposée aux enfants de Grande Section et CP. Comme son nom l'indique, nous proposons dans ce programme de faire un lien entre le système scolaire français et le système scolaire américain.

Pour l'année scolaire 2026-2027, nous proposons 2 classes:

- Petite Section (K3) et Moyenne Section (K4).
les lundis, mercredis et vendredis de 8h30 à 13h15. 

- Grande Section (K5) et CP (1st grade).

du lundi au vendredi de 8h30 à 13h15.

Nous aurons une récréation le matin et prévoyons de faire déjeuner les enfants avec leur lunch box. Nous pourrons réchauffer leur plat si nécessaire. Une autre récréation est prévue après le déjeuner.

A qui est destiné ce programme ?

• Aux enfants scolarisés précédemment en école française ou internationale (en France ou ailleurs).

• Aux enfants de familles en expatriation qui doivent retourner en France par la suite.

• Aux enfants proches de la date de leur retour en France, pour s’adapter aux requis français et préparer la transition vers le système scolaire français ou international.

• Aux familles qui veulent enseigner le Français à leurs enfants, à condition qu'un parent au moins comprenne un peu le Français et puisse soutenir le travail fait pendant ces matinées.

Remarque : Ce programme est particulièrement adapté aux enfants nés en fin d’année qui ne peuvent pas être scolarisés dans le système américain en maternelle ou en CP sans perdre une année scolaire, car nés entre septembre et décembre.

Quels programmes suivons-nous?

Nous proposons une scolarité qui suit le programme français de maternelle et CP, mais qui introduit aussi le programme américain, pour s-’adapter aux enfants qui iront en école américaine par la suite.

L’enseignement en Français couvre les 5 domaines de la maternelle et CP française: 

• Mobiliser le langage dans toutes ses dimensions: Langage Oral et Écrit; Préparation à la lecture et à l'écriture; Graphisme; motricité fine.

• Agir, s'exprimer, comprendre à travers l'activité physique: Motricité et Sport.

• Agir, s'exprimer, comprendre à travers les activités artistiques: Arts Visuels et Arts Sonores.

• Construire les premiers outils pour structurer sa pensée: Mathématiques.

• Explorer le monde: Sciences, Espace et Temps.

Qui sont les intervenants dans ces classes de Maternelle et CP Passerelle?

• Une enseignante expérimentée diplômée de l’Education Nationale Française pour chaque classe.

• Une aide-maternelle française expérimentée en Petite et Moyenne Section (K3-K4).

• Une enseignante d'Anglais qui interviendra dans la classe quelques heures dans la semaine. Cela permettra d'introduire l'Anglais pour les nouveaux arrivants et de compléter le programme français dans la langue locale.

Combien d’enfants dans une classe?

Nous acceptons environ 6 à 8 enfants par classe.

Les horaires d'ouverture de ce programme sont de 8h30 à 13h15.

• Petite Section (K3) et Moyenne Section (K4) - les lundis, mercredis et vendredis (3 jours).

Nous suivons le calendrier du Greenville County School pour la plupart des dates, notamment les jours fériés, les vacances et les journées pédagogiques.

The Kindergarten and First Grade Gateway (Maternelle et CP Passerelle) is a new initiative offered for the 2025-2026 school year and will continue for the 2026-2027 school year, with the addition of a program for children in their final year of preschool (Grande Section) and first grade (CP). As the name suggests, this program aims to bridge the gap between the French and American school systems.

For the 2026-2027 school year, we offer two classes:

- Preschool (Petite Section - K3) and Kindergarten (Moyenne Section - K4): Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

- K5 (Grande Section) and first grade (CP): Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

We will have a morning recess and plan to provide lunch for the children, who will bring their own packed lunches. We can heat their lunches if needed. Another recess is scheduled after lunch.

Who is this program for?

• For children previously enrolled in French or international schools (in France or elsewhere).

• For children of expatriate families who will later return to France.

• For children nearing their return date to France, to adapt to French requirements and prepare for the transition to the French or international school system.

• For families who want to teach their children French, provided that at least one parent understands some French and can support the work done during these mornings.

Note: This program is particularly suited to children born at the end of the year who cannot be enrolled in the American system for preschool or first grade without losing a school year, as they were born between September and December.

What curriculum do we follow?

We offer a curriculum that follows the French preschool and elementary program but also introduces the American curriculum, to prepare children who will later attend American schools. French language instruction covers the five areas of the French preschool curriculum:

• Developing language skills in all its dimensions: Oral and Written Language; Reading and Writing Preparation; Handwriting; Fine Motor Skills.

• Acting, Expressing Oneself, and Understanding Through Physical Activity: Motor Skills and Sports.

• Acting, Expressing Oneself, and Understanding Through Artistic Activities: Visual Arts and Sound Arts.

• Building the First Tools for Structuring One's Thinking: Mathematics.

• Exploring the World: Science, Space, and Time.

Who are the instructors in this Kindergarten and First Grade Gateway (Maternelle et CP Passerelle)?

• An experienced teacher with a diploma from the French National Education system per class.

• An experienced French teaching assistant specializing in the younger and middle age groups (K3-K4).

• An English teacher who will work with the class for a few hours each week. This will allow for the introduction of English for newcomers and complement the French curriculum in the local language.

How many children are in a class?

We accept 6 to 8 children per class.

The opening hours for this program are from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
